A 62-year-old woman in the Foster City Costco parking lot was punched in the face by one of three men trying to pry her purse from her grasp Thursday evening, according to police.
At about 8:34 p.m., Foster City police responded to the store at 1001 Metro Center Boulevard on the report of a woman screaming in the parking lot. She said she was about to get into her parked car when the suspect car stopped near her and the three men got out. They approached the woman and tried to grab her purse. She resisted and was punched in the face by one man while another continued to pull on her arm. She pressed the panic button on her key fob, which caused her alarm to sound. The three men quickly got into their vehicle and were last seen on Metro Center Boulevard toward State Route 92, according to police.
The three men were described as black, late teens to early 20s, average builds, with one being 5 feet 5 inches tall, 120 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt; another 5 feet 8 inches, 140 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt; and the other 5 feet 6 inches, 120 pounds, wearing a dark shirt. The vehicle was a burgundy four-door Honda Civic, according to police.
The woman had a cut lip and a bruised arm, according to police.
