Two people pulled over for their vehicle's window tint were arrested in San Mateo last week after they allegedly got caught with a gun and ecstasy pills.
San Mateo officers pulled over a vehicle driven by 33-year-old San Francisco resident Danny Nelson at about 12:30 a.m. Friday near South Delaware Street and 25th Avenue for allegedly having a window tint violation.
Nelson was discovered to be on probation for a weapons-related felony conviction in Alameda County, leading officers to conduct a probation search of the vehicle, police said in a statement.
Officers also allegedly found a loaded, unregistered firearm under the passenger seat.
A woman in the passenger seat, 33-year-old Richmond resident Elizabeth Hill, had her purse searched, which allegedly yielded a loaded large-capacity magazine and suspected ecstasy pills, according to police.
Nelson was arrested on allegations of being a felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon inside a vehicle, possession of a large-capacity magazine, and being a prohibited person in possession of ammunition. Hill was accused of similar crimes, along with possession of a controlled substance while being armed.
