Sheriff Christina Corpus’ former chief of staff Victor Aenlle has filed a claim against San Mateo County alleging wrongful termination, retaliation, defamation and discrimination based on race, marking yet another lawsuit initiated in regards to ongoing scandal surrounding the Sheriff’s Office.

Filed on May 2, the suit seeks over $15 million in damages, and claims Aenlle’s rights were violated by County Executive Mike Callagy, supervisors Noelia Corzo and Ray Mueller, and Director of Human Resources Rocio Kiryczun.

Purely a money grab (and to save face). The Sheriff’s Office DSA, OSS (including the Sheriff’s lieutenants and Captains) and the voters of San Mateo County have spoken. These two scoundrels need to go. Sadly, when the smoke clears, this LMN movie will cost the County a pretty penny. But it will be money well invested!

Another day, another lawsuit in the “As the Sheriff’s World Turns” soap opera. Let’s see if sheriff’s office employees or farmworkers file suit against Aenlle so they can partake of any potential proceeds from Aenlle’s lawsuit, if any, else Aenlle will need to pay any losses out of pocket. I’m surprised the amount is only $15 million. Maybe a good time to be on a jury?

Hello again, Terence

Victor and Christina's claims of discrimination remind me of a quote by Thomas Sowell. He said, "The word 'racism' is like ketchup. It can be put on practically anything - and demanding evidence makes you a 'racist.'" I think it's likely anyone who asks Victor for evidence supporting his claims will be dismissed by Victor as racist. Lest we forget, Christina's ascension to the highest law enforcement position in our county was supported by lots of folks of every color. When she appointed Victor to be her ex officio second in command, that was her prerogative. It's only conduct by both of them after they were installed in positions of power that they came under scrutiny. That scrutiny ultimately led to voters approving a change in leadership in the Sheriff's Office. The justification for removing Christina and Victor from their positions is not race based. It's clear the people of our county have lost confidence in Christina and Victor's ability to lead.
