A power outage affected roughly 3,220 customers in central San Mateo Tuesday afternoon, according to PG&E.
The outage started at 3:09 p.m. and was caused by the failure of underground equipment, according Mayra Tostado, a spokeswoman for Pacific Gas and Electric.
At first, the outage affected roughly 3,400 customers, but 180 of them had their power restored as of 4:30 p.m.
PG&E crews were working to address the problem.
