The Belmont Police Department shut down O’Donnell Park on Tuesday morning to conduct an investigation related to the unsolved 2024 murder of 27-year-old Diontae Gayden.“We had some recent info that led our investigators to go back out to the park and do a careful and comprehensive search for some additional evidence,” Belmont police Lt. Peter Lotti said.

Gayden was shot and killed in his car by the park in the Homeview neighborhood in May 2024, and while the police maintained a list of potential suspects, no arrests have been made in the case thus far. Lotti said the investigation Dec. 9 may help narrow down the list of suspects.
