After two weeks of deliberation, the jury found Tyrone Jones guilty of multiple counts of raping a stripper who he met at Club Ante. Sentencing will take place on Jan. 22, and Jones, who is 23-years old, faces a maximum of 240 years in prison - most likely he will be in prison for life.
Jones was found guilty of rape, forced penetration with a foreign object, forced oral copulation, assault resulting in great bodily harm and terrorist threats. The jury dismissed the robbery and sodomy charges because there was not enough evidence to convict Jones, according to Prosecuting Attorney Katherine Alberti.
"I'm extremely pleased that the jury believed the victim," Alberti said. "So I think we got the right results in the case. It doesn't matter that they didn't convict him of all counts because he is facing more than the maximum number of years."
Defense Attorney Savas Loukedis did not return the Daily Journal's calls for comment on the verdict.
Jones met the victim at Club Ante last Dec. 17 - he and a group of male friends went out for a night on the town at the start of their winter vacation. A number of them were in school out of state, and they had not seen each other for a number of months. Jones was working at the time.

The group went out drinking and then ended up at Club Ante, where they continued to drink and watched one of the strippers dance to the sexually explicit song, Freaky Tales by Too Short. Jones took an interest in the stripper and they drinked and talked throughout part of the evening - he urged his friends to go home without him.
The victim was a social work student at San Francisco State who worked at Club Ante on the side for extra money. She agreed to take Jones home to Redwood City, and when they arrived at his apartment complex, he began forcing himself on her - when she resisted he began to beat her in the face. He threatened to kill her if she did not submit.
For the next two hours, the victim said Jones raped her multiple times and forced her to give him oral sex, in and outside her Geo Metro. She eventually got away and ran to El Camino screaming - she managed to flag down a trucker who took her to the Safeway at Sequoia Station.
Police found her half-naked with a bruised and swollen face - they took her back to the crime scene that night and found her shoes and pants where she said she left them, and her car empty. Subsequent medical examinations found Jones' sperm inside her and on her clothing. She testified to the jury that since the incident she has required glasses, and dental work on her teeth and jaw. And she said she has had trouble sleeping and has been too afraid to leave her house since the incident. She has dropped out of school and is living at home with her family.
Jones maintained his innocence throughout the trial - he admitted to having sex with her, but claimed that it was mutually desired. He claimed to have fallen asleep in the passenger seat and awoke to find her attempting to rob him - it was then that he punched her in the face.
