· The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors Tuesday morning introduced an ordinance revising the county's dangerous animal ordinance to tighten regulations, clarify the procedures for hearings and clean up the language. The changes give local authorities more control over deeming animals dangerous or vicious and deciding what to do with them.
City government
· The San Carlos City Council Monday night authorized professional service contracts to refinance the Library General Obligation Bonds and reduce parcel tax assessments by $800,000 annually. The average reduction per person and business will be $5, said Assistant City Manager Brian Moura.
· The Redwood City Redevelopment Agency is hosting a "Wayfinding" workshop to refine it's sign strategy and design for helping people maneuver around downtown. Using aerial maps, participants will discuss destinations and preferable routes.
The public workshop is from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.. Sept. 14 in the Main Library Community Room, 1044 Middlefield Rd., Redwood City.
· Redwood City is hosting two community workshops on long-term water supply as part of updating the city's Urban Water Management Plan. The workshops will include a brief background and overview presentation followed by conversations about water supply and projected demand, potential new development and reliability. The public workshops are from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 21 at Veterans Memorial Senior Center, 1455 Madison Ave. and from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 24 at the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Ave.
