• The San Bruno City Council will consider allowing Peninsula Yellow Cab to increase its rates from $2.75 for a flat drop to $3.50; and $2,60 to $3 per mile. If approved, rates would go into effect on Wednesday, Aug. 27.

• The San Mateo-Foster City Elementary School District Board of Trustees will discuss the plan to implement Measure L — a "no cost” bond measure approved by voters in February slated to improve facilities. At the same meeting, the board will consider filling an assistant principal position at Abbott Middle School.
The board meets 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14 at the District Office, 1170 Chess Drive, Foster City.
