PG&E will be upgrading nearly 1,400 feet of an 8-inch gas main line on a main thoroughfare in Foster City starting next week in a project that is expected to last through January, city officials said.
The work will begin Monday on the line on Foster City Boulevard between Chess and Vintage Park drives, with a majority of the work taking place in the southbound lanes.
The upgrading of about 1,370 feet of the gas main and service lines to businesses along the street will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday to avoid commute traffic, city officials said.
PG&E will contact businesses in the area prior to starting work. Parking and driveway access may be affected, but crews will be at the scene to help facilitate access to any driveways, according to the city.
Foster City officials asked anyone with questions to call Public Works Department’s Engineering Division at (650) 286-3270.
