A former educator who worked for a now-closed charter school in North Fair Oaks has been arrested after an extensive investigation revealed he had sexual relationships with two students who were minors, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect, 31-year-old Anthony G. GutierrezMolina of Palo Alto, worked as a coach and program manager for Summit Everest, a public charter high school in North Fair Oaks that closed in 2025. GutierrezMolina is not believed to have been working as an educator since the closure of Summit Everest, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation into GutierrezMolina began in January of 2026, when a confidential victim came forward to report a past sexual relationship that began when the victim was 16 years old. Since that time, investigators with the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office have identified an additional confidential victim who was also a minor at the time. The crimes reportedly occurred between 2023 and 2025. Both victims have been provided with resources and support, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Following an extensive investigation, sheriff’s detectives obtained an arrest warrant for GutierrezMolina. On March 5, an outside agency located GutierrezMolina in Ladera and notified the Sheriff’s Office. Based on the nature of the crimes, investigators believe there may be additional unidentified victims.
