A Daly City man was arrested for embezzling more than $100,000 from Walmart.com over a period of two years, according to San Bruno police.
San Bruno-based Walmart.com contacted the San Bruno Police Department in 2018 about suspected fraud within the shipping department. An audit revealed suspicious transactions within the company mail room and investigators from Walmart.com with San Bruno police detectives to identify Michael Richard Ibarra, 24, of Daly City, as the suspect in the case, according to San Bruno police.
Ibarra, who worked in the mail room, used his position to commit hundreds of fraudulent transactions to his personal credit cards in excess of a $100,000 over two years. Ibarra was booked into the San Mateo County Jail on a felony charge of embezzlement, according to San Bruno police.
