Stephen Shames Angela Davis is part of 'Let Your Motto Be Resistance: African American Portraits' at the Museum of the African Diaspora.

The Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD) presents "Let Your Motto Be Resistance: African American Portraits,” images highlighting renowned African Americans whose achievements helped shape individual notions of race and status across the past 150 years of American history. A 30-stop cell phone tour allows visitors to listen to selections from historical songs, speeches and commentary from the icons featured in the exhibition, including Angela Davis, Lorraine Hansberry and Harry Belafonte. The presentation is organized by the Smithsonian’s new National Museum of African American History and Culture, in collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery and the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service.
