NEW YORK (AP) — Foo Fighters have performed a surprise, secret concert at New York City's Irving Plaza. Tickets for the Thursday night show were priced at $30. They were limited to two per purchaser and available only on a first-come, first-served basis at 10 a.m. Thursday. Over two and a half hours, the band ripped through songs old and new. Surprises abounded. The band debuted a new song, “Window.” The group opened a five-song encore with “A320,” a contribution to the oft-overlooked 1998 “Godzilla” soundtrack. At one moment a concertgoer shouted, “Taylor Hawkins forever!” That was in memory of the band’s late drummer. Front man Dave Grohl instinctively responded: “That’s right!”

Australian actor Milly Alcock stars as Supergirl in this summer's new DC Studios movie bearing her name. Heading to theaters on June 26, the film finds her character on an intergalactic odyssey of revenge. DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran first noticed Alcock on the “Game of Thrones” prequel series “House of the Dragon.” Since she filmed her cameo for “Superman,” it's been a non-stop ride. Alcock says her character reminded her a lot of herself. She's finding the experience of sudden fame somewhat disorienting and laughs about anyone wanting a toy with her face.

Britney Spears charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Britney Spears has been charged in California with driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The Ventura County District Attorney's Office says Spears was charged Thursday with a single misdemeanor count of driving under the combined influence of alcohol and at least one drug. The California Highway Patrol said the 44-year-old pop star was driving erratically in her BMW on March 4 on U.S 101 near her home outside of Los Angeles. She was arrested and jailed after taking several sobriety tests. A representative for Spears called her actions “completely inexcusable” and said she planned to comply with the law. Spears' representative later said she voluntarily checked into a substance abuse treatment facility.
Movie Review: 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' still has style but the story is overdressed
The second “Devil Wears Prada” plays out a bit like a fashion world “Succession,” with better clothes and a lot less cursing, writes Associated Press Film Writer Jake Coyle in his review. It's a fitfully functional sequel that doesn’t fit its cast nearly as snugly as the 2006 original did. Nostalgia, haute couture and the sheer appeal of Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci will be enough for some to celebrate this 20-year reunion. Fashion trends are notoriously fickle but some things, like Streep and Tucci, never go out of style. But mid-life career changes aren’t nearly as compelling as a newbie assistant thrown into the high-fashion fire. Everyone, even Miranda, is a bit too, well, nice in the sequel.

NEW YORK (AP) — Court ended early for the day at Harvey Weinstein’s rape retrial after his accuser struggled on the witness stand. It happened Thursday after a defense lawyer showed jurors a previously undisclosed note that the woman wrote to herself two days after the alleged assault in 2013. The note described her feeling “emotionally attached” to someone and wanting a loving partnership. Weinstein's defense pointed out that the note says nothing about the alleged rape two days earlier in a Manhattan hotel. Weinstein says everything that happened between him and the woman accusing him was consensual. She straightforwardly answered questions Thursday but then said she felt “spacey” from the stress of testifying. That prompted the judge to adjourn court early.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Druski will host the 2026 BET Awards, becoming the youngest emcee in the show’s history. BET announced Thursday that the 31-year-old comedian will lead the ceremony, airing live June 28 from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Druski surpasses Kevin Hart, who previously held the distinction as the youngest host. Druski is best known for his viral sketches and has built a massive following across social media. The BET Awards, now in its 25th year, celebrates Black achievement across music, film, television and sports. The show will be produced by Jesse Collins Entertainment.

Los Angeles County prosecutors say Celeste Rivas Hernandez's decomposed remains were found in his abandoned Tesla. The allegations date back to 2023. That was just a year after the singer's first single made it onto the Billboard Hot 100 chart. D4vd's legal name is David Burke. He has pleaded not guilty and his attorney says he did not cause her death. The timeline of events as described by prosecutors is interwoven with Burke's career. Rivas Hernandez was last heard from two days before Burke's debut album dropped.
‘Mormon Wives’ star Taylor Frankie Paul and ex-partner ordered to stay 100 feet apart
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Taylor Frankie Paul, a reality TV star from “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” and the father of her 2-year-old son were ordered Thursday to stay 100 feet (30 meters) away from each other for the next three years as a Utah court commissioner continues to assess custody plans for the child. Paul has been unable to spend unsupervised time with her son since an April 7 hearing, when Third District Court Commissioner Russell Minas said Paul had a history of volatile behavior directed at her former partner, Dakota Mortensen, while kids were present. Minas on Thursday described the pair’s dynamic as “very toxic” before granting Paul and Mortensen’s dueling requests for protective orders against each other.
Banksy confirms a new statue in central London of a man blinded by a flag is his work
LONDON (AP) — Elusive street artist Banksy has claimed responsibility for a new sculpture in central London. The statue features a man striding off a plinth with his face covered by a flag. Banksy posted a video on his Instagram account Thursday showing snippets of how it was installed in the dead of night. Before Banksy's confirmation, locals and tourists speculated the sculpture near Buckingham Palace was his work due to his signature at the base. Known for spray-painting buildings, Banksy's street art has gained global fame, often selling for millions. Despite his success, Banksy has never publicly revealed his identity.
