The South City Warriors entered Friday’s non-league football showdown with Sequoia having lost four straight, the program’s longest losing streak since dropping a program-record 26 in a row from 2018-22. The current streak, spanning through three losses to open 2025, began in the Central Coast Section Division V playoffs last season with a semifinal loss to the same Sequoia Ravens.

The Warriors (1-3) snapped their losing streak and got payback against Ravens, riding two late touchdowns from senior Devon Jackson to claim a 14-9 non-league victory at Clifford Field. Jackson’s final score was a 2-yard gallop off the left side with 1:16 to play to give the Warriors their first lead of the night.
