Woodside 2, South City
The Wildcats’ win, coupled with a draw for Bay Division-leading Hillsdale, means Woodside stayed in the running for the division crown.
Woodside (7-2-3 PAL Bay, 24 points; 11-3-3 overall) leapfrogs Burlingame into second place with the win. The Wildcats are four points behind with two games left to play and six points still available for both Woodside and Hillsdale.
The Wildcats scored both their goals in the first half, with Luke Hunter and Ben Lange finding the back of the net, with Daniel Artandi supplying the assist on both.
Nehemias Gomez scored for South City (1-10-2, 1-13-2).
Aragon 1, Burlingame 0
The Dons officially eliminated the Panthers from Bay Division championship contention with a second-half strike.
It’s the second loss in a row for Burlingame (7-4-2 PAL Bay, 23 points; 11-4-2 overall) as the Panthers fall into third place in the Bay Division standings — and the last automatic transfer spot into the Central Coast Section playoffs.
Matthew McCall scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal for Aragon (4-8-1, 13 points; 5-11-2), off an assist from Andrew Alatta.
Menlo-Atherton 0, Sequoia 0
Despite their sixth tie of the Bay Division campaign, the Bears are still in the mix for a top-three finish and an automatic bid to the CCS postseason.
M-A (4-2-6 PAL Bay, 18 points; 6-6-6 overall) sits in fourth place, five points behind third-place Burlingame. The Panthers have only one game remaining in Bay play, while the Bears have two — but they are against the two top teams in the division. M-A hosts second-place Woodside Friday before closing out the season at first-place Hillsdale next Wednesday.
Sequoia falls to 3-8-2 in Bay play (11 points) and 5-9-3 overall.
El Camino 3, Capuchino 0
The Ocean Division champ Colts will have a chance to complete an unbeaten regular season after shutting out the Mustangs.
El Camino (14-0-1 PAL Ocean, 43 points; 17-0-1) has won 15 games in a row and closes out the regular season at Westmoor Friday. The Colts are one of two teams in the CCS that have not loss. Alvarez, the No. 1 ranked team in the CCS by MaxPreps.com, is a perfect 19-0-0.
Ayden Fernandez, Andrew Tafolla and Santino Frances all found the back of the net for the Colts, with Danny Figueroa Jr. supplying a pair of assists.
Freshman goalkeeper Eduardo Espinoza posted his 12th shutout of the season.
Capuchino falls to 5-8-2 in Ocean play (17 points) and 6-8-3 overall.
Mills 3, Oceana 1
The Vikings scored all three goals in the first half to post the win.
Nicolas Carrozzi, Leran Mao and Wayne Xiao all scored for Mills (8-6-1 PAL Ocean, 25 points; 8-7-1 overall). Shamal Kumar and Ethan Carbeza picked up assists for the Vikings.
Sacred Heart Prep 6, Eastside College Prep 0
The Gators stayed atop the WBAL standings with the rout of the Panthers.
SHP (9-0-2, WBAL, 29 points; 10-1-4 overall) holds a one-point lead over both Crystal and Menlo School with three games remaining in the regular season.
The Gators led 2-0 at halftime before exploding for four more in the second.
Menlo School 6, Pinewood 1
The Knights kept the pressure up on WBAL-leading Sacred Heart Prep after drilling the Panthers.
Menlo (9-1-1 WBAL, 28 points; 11-3-3 overall) has three games left including — including the season finale next Wednesday against rival SHP.
Like the Gators, the Knights scored twice in the first half before erupting for four in the second. Stevie Halprin paced the offense for Menlo, scoring twice and assisting on a third. Ryder Shaw added a brace while Declan Sitter assisted on a pair of goals.
Crystal 2, King’s Academy 0

The Gryphons also stayed in the hunt for the WBAL crown after shutting out the Knights.
Lucas Shotts scored off an assist from Jimmy Naylor for Crystal (9-1-1 WBAL, 28 points; 13-1-2 overall). The other was a TKA (2-6-2, 8 points; 3-10-2) own-goal.
In other action ...
San Mateo (8-5-3 PAL Ocean, 27 points; 9-8-3 overall) got a goal from Vedaant Puri to beat Terra Nova (3-10-2, 11 points), 1-0.
Boys’ basketball
Carlmont 52, Terra Nova 48
The Scots won their fourth game in a row, holding off the Tigers in a Bay Division meeting.
Jordan Rice led the way for Carlmont (8-4 PAL Bay, 14-10 overall), scoring 17 points. Izzy Han added 13 for the Scots, while Ayaan Omer finished with 12.
Terra Nova (1-10, 8-15) got a game-high 21 points from Kai Gieraths and a dozen from Jesse Martinez.
El Camino 48, Westmoor 36
This game was decided in the first quarter as the Colts held the Rams to one point and they could never recover.
El Camino (7-4 PAL Ocean, 13-10 overall) led 16-1 after the opening period. The game was played fairly equally after that, but Westmoor (2-9, 7-16) could never recover.
In other action...
Menlo-Atherton (11-0 PAL Bay, 20-3 overall) moved one step closer to an undefeated Bay Division title as the Bears won their 20th game of the season with a 60-40 win over sequoia (4-7, 10-13).
Design Tech (11-0 PSAL, 14-6 overall) got 16 points from Sky Stewart as the Dragons rolled past San Francisco Christian (6-5, 6-6), 64-37.
Girls’ basketball
Half Moon Bay 51, San Mateo 38
The Cougars set up a showdown for the Bay Division championship Friday after beating the Bearcats.
HMB (9-2 PAL Bay, 17-5 overall) will face Menlo-Atherton for the Bay Division crown at 6:15 p.m. Friday on the coast. The Cougars beat the Bears with a last-minute 3-pointer for a 51-49 win Jan. 23.
The Cougars beat San Mateo (2-9, 12-11) by holding the Bearcats to a combined 14 points in the second and fourth quarters. Zoe Lemoge paced the offense for HMB, finishing with 21 points. Jade Villalobos added 14 in the win.
The Bearcats were led by Violet MacAvoy, who finished with 14 points.
Menlo-Atherton 58, Aragon 33
The Bears held up their end of the bargain in setting up a battle with Half Moon Bay for the Bay Division title Friday night with the win over the Dons.
M-A (9-2 PAL Bay, 18-4 overall) took control of the game with a 23-point first quarter. Luisa Tava led the offense for the Bears, finishing with 17 points. Apé Ulukivaiola added 12 in the win.
Aragon (6-5, 12-10) was led by Daisy Pantoja Beltran, who finished with 14 points.
Carlmont 52, Mills 32
The Scots scored 21 points in the second quarter and 15 in the third to roll past the Vikings.
London Greene paced the offense for Carlmont (4-8 PAL Bay, 12-12 overall), scoring a game-high 18 points. She was the only player to score in double figures.
Mills falls to 3-8 in Bay play and 10-13 overall.
In other action ...
Crystal (4-4 WBAL Skyline, 10-6 overall) hammered Mercy (0-8, 7-14), 57-29.
Design Tech (7-2 PSAL, 11-6 overall) cruised past San Francisco Christian (7-3, 9-4), 58-38.
