Menlo School 13, Sacred Heart Prep 12
The Knights rallied from a 12-0 deficit in the fourth quarter to slip past the rival Gators and remain undefeated on the season in a battle for first place in the West Bay Athletic League.
Quarterback Ava Allen scored both touchdowns for Menlo (5-0 WBAL, 9-0 overall). Her sweep into the end zone with just over a minute to play in the fourth quarter put the Knights up 13-12. She was also responsible for the Knights’ first score earlier in the quarter with her first rushing touchdown of the game.
Sacred Heart Prep falls to 4-1 in WBAL action and 11-2 overall.
San Mateo 33, Sequoia 27
The Ravens led 21-20 going into the fourth quarter, but the Bearcats rallied for a pair of touchdowns in the final 12 minutes to pull out the win.
San Mateo (1-1 PAL Bay, 6-3 overall) quarterback, Kayla Lichaa, figured into five touchdowns. She completed 13 of 17 passes for 241 yards and three touchdowns. She also led the team in rushing with 71 yards on 10 carries and scored two more touchdowns.
Twin sister Zoe Lichaa caught four passes for 110 yards and two scores. Arianna Cardenas Jacobo had four catches for 71 yards, while Prisha Prasad caught the other scoring pass for the Bearcats.
Freshman quarterback Hannah Orton completed 13 of 22 passes for 218 yards for Sequoia (1-2, 5-9) with three touchdowns. Jamie Elkington was her favorite target as the senior receiver hauled in seven passes for a game-high 134 yards and three scores.
In other action ...
King’s Academy (3-4 WBAL, 5-6 overall) cruised past Notre Dame-Belmont (0-5, 0-6), 28-7.
Burton-SF (9-3 overall) shut out Terra Nova (0-5) in a non-league game, 25-0.

Burlingame 22, Hillsdale 9
The Panthers all but eliminated the Knights from Bay Division title contention with the lopsided win.
Hillsdale (2-4 PAL Bay, 8-5 overall) started strong, leading 3-1 after the first period, but Burlingame (5-1, 11-6) swamped the Knights in the second half, outscoring them 10-2 to lead 11-5 at halftime. The Panthers kept up the onslaught in the second half, outscoring Hillsdale 11-4, shutting the Knights out in the third period.
Oliver Canniffe scored five times and assisted on three other goals to lead Burlingame with eight points. Matt Derossett scored a match-high six goals for the Panthers.
Hillsdale was led by Isaiah Yeager, who finished with four goals.
Serra 12, Pioneer 11
The Padres slipped past the Mustangs in a non-league match.
Colin Wright had a big game for Serra (8-7 overall), scoring seven goals, assisting on an eighth and coming up with four steals. Tyler Krueger, a freshman, finished with seven points — six assists and a goal – for the Padres, while goalie Rhys Salma finished with 14 saves.

Hillsdale 13, Half Moon Bay 2
The Knights kept the pressure on first-place Burlingame with the win over the Cougars.
Hillsdale (6-1 PAL Ocean, 8-6 overall) stayed one game behind Burlingame (7-0) in the Ocean Division standings.
The Knights’ defense was stifling against HMB, shutting out the Cougars for the first three quarters, as Hillsdale led 4-0 after one period, 8-0 at halftime and 11-0 going into the fourth.
Sofie Zlobinsky poured in eight goals to lead the Knights, while Camryn Gutierrez had two goals and three assists.
