After dropping two straight for the first time all season, the Wildcats (14-5) have bounced back with two straight wins against Jefferson and Newark Memorial (1-21). Newark Memorial was paced by junior Mai Weeks’ 15 points.

Boys’ basketball
Menlo-Atherton 59, Carlmont 48
Four players accounted for all the scoring for the Bears (9-0 PAL Bay, 16-3 overall), who won their 10th in a row in a home game against Carlmont (5-4, 10-9). M-A senior Luca Auer led all scorers with 20 points, while seniors Jerry Williams and Jacob Sutton had 14 apiece and and senior Aiden Atkins had 11. Carlmont junior Jordan Rice scored a team-high 17 points, and junior Mikael Bruhnsteyn totaled 12.
Sequoia 57, Terra Nova 52
Sophomore guard Xavier Ferretty scored a team-high 15 points and junior Nik Dimaano hit three 3s to add 10 as the Ravens (3-6, PAL Bay, 9-12 overall) rallied for the win at Terra Nova (1-7, 8-12). Senior Enzo Zencirci added 12 points for Sequoia. Junior forward Jesse Martinez scored a game-high 19 points for the Tigers, while senior Kai Gieraths had 11.
Burlingame 49, Jefferson 42
With the game tied 21-all at the half, the Panthers (5-4 PAL Bay, 13-7 overall) used a 12-5 run in the third quarter to take control for a home win over Jefferson (0-8, 6-14). Burlingame hit eight 3-pointers in the game, while senior guard Payton Fong Heady led all scorers with 13 points. Jean-Luc Uharriet, Max Robenalt and Scott Cornelius hit two 3s apiece. Senior Jayden Peralta scored a team-high 10 points for the Grizzlies.
El Camino 49, Mills 39
The Colts (5-3 PAL Ocean, 11-9 overall) opened on an 11-5 run and went on to hit eight 3-pointers to earn the win at Mills (4-4, 6-12). Senior forward Markson Jacques led the way with three 3s and 12 points, senior Brandon Jue scored 10 points, and junior Sean De Jesus had nine. Senior forward Paris Baltazar led the Vikings with seven points.
Capuchino 51, Westmoor 46
Senior guard Christian Rodriguez scored a game-high 22 points and the Mustangs (3-5 PAL Ocean, 8-12 overall) used a fourth-quarter run to win at home against Westmoor (2-6, 7-13). The game was tied 32-all heading into the fourth quarter, but Cap outscored the Rams 19-14 over the final eight minutes. Rodriguez hit four 3s in the game, and senior guard Matthew Alas added 11 points for Cap. Junior Kevin Panlasigui led Westmoor with 17 points.
Priory 72, Menlo School 59
Priory’s 6-9 senior forward Mate Palotai scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Panthers (5-1 WBAL, 14-5 overall) to the win at Menlo School (2-4, 10-9). The Knights trailed 33-31 at the half on a flourish with Jayar Davis scoring a layup and then recording an assist pass to junior Kai Mawakana before the buzzer. Priory responded with a 23-15 run in the third quarter. Senior guard Ethan Zhao led Menlo with 16 points and seven rebounds, while Mawakana and William Lenihan each scored 13.
Crystal 60, Harker 46
Four Gryphons scored in double figures as Crystal (6-2 WBAL, 14-4 overall) rolled to the win at Harker-San Jose (0-6, 5-14). Senior Eugene Leung fueled the offense with eight assists, as junior Remy Tyler splashed four 3s for 16 points, Markus Kueh and Theo Lee scored 12 apiece, and senior Guy Ronen added 10. Freshman Stephen Gao led the Eagles with 14 points.
In other action ...
Sacred Heart Prep (3-3 WBAL, 10-9 overall) fell 62-45 at hoe to the King’s Academy (6-0 WBAL, 17-3 overall).
South City (4-4 PAL Ocean, 8-11 overall) evened up its league record with a 61-57 overtime win at Oceana (0-8, 5-15). Catcher Ashkinos scored 20 points for Oceana.

Aragon 56, Hillsdale 44
Daisy Pantoja Beltran recorded a double-double to lead the Lady Dons (4-4 PAL Bay, 9-9 overall) to the rivalry win at home over Hillsdale (4-5, 13-7). The senior forward totaled 20 points and 10 rebounds, while senior Jayda Parangan added 14 points for Aragon. Hillsdale junior Cadence Lane scored a team-high 14 points, and Daniella Sierra added 10.
With the win, Aragon leapfrogs Hillsdale into third place in the PAL Bay Division standings.
Menlo-Atherton 73, Carlmont 43
Senior Lita Fakapelea erupted for a game-high 29 points to lead the Bears (8-1 PAL Bay, 17-3 overall) to a runaway home win over Carlmont (2-7, 11-10). M-A opened on a 21-6 first-quarter run and didn’t slow down until the fourth. Fakapelea drilled four 3-pointers in the game, while senior Ape Ulukivaiola and freshman Bella Gormsen scored nine points apiece. Junior guard Sky Yee paced the Lady Scots with eight points.
Mills 44, San Mateo 42
The Lady Vikings (3-6 PAL Bay, 8-11 overall) staved off a fourth-quarter run by San Mateo (2-6, 12-8) to win at home, and hold on to fifth-place in the PAL Bay Division standings. Mills led 31-22 heading into the fourth, but the Bearcats closed on an 18-9 tear to make it close. Senior Kaylee Huynh and junior Nina Kerri led the Vikings with 10 points apiece. Junior post Kaitlyn Schuh exploded for a game-high 28 points for San Mateo.
Woodside 47, Jefferson 32
Senior Emily Parker netted a game-high 18 points to lead the Wildcats (7-1 PAL Ocean, 13-5 overall) to a home win over Jefferson (2-6, 9-10). Sophomore Meadow Long added 11 points for Woodside, while senior Princess Warit paced the Grizzlies with 11 points.
Burlingame 38, Westmoor 36
Trailing 29-28 heading into the fourth, the Panthers (5-3 PAL Ocean, 10-9 overall) finished on a 10-7 run to win at home against Westmoor (3-5, 8-12). Senior guard Addie Uhrich drained two 3s to lead Burlingame with 14 points, while senior Kendall Gorshen added 13 points. Junior Jhacelyn Capistrano scored a game-high 15 points for the Lady Rams, and senior Kiana Chavez added 11.
Sequoia 55, Oceana 18
The Ravens (3-5 PAL Ocean, 9-10 overall) opened on a 25-0 run before the Sharks got on the board with less than two minutes to go in the second half at Oceana (0-8, 0-14). Ten different Ravens got in the scoring column, led by sophomore Presley Ackeralt’s 14 points. Oceana’s Mika Escobedo hit four 3s to lead all scorers with 15 points.
El Camino 35, Terra Nova 27
Sophomore guard Lhian Dela Cruz racked up a game-high 16 points as the Lady Colts (3-5 PAL Ocean, 6-13 overall) held on for the win at Terra Nova (5-3, 9-8). Keilani Der and Isabella Fernandez scored eight points apiece for El Camino. Senior guard Danielle Dibble scored a team-high eight points for the Tigers.
Sacred Heart Prep 73, Mercy-Burlingame 7
Katie Baron dropped a game-high 24 points as the Gators (6-0 WBAL Skyline, 9-8 overall) rolled to the home win against Mercy-Burlingame (0-6, 7-11). Baron totaled seven rebounds, seven steals and five assists, while sophomore Tiki Slattery Byrne added 11 points, and freshman Bella Jansen-Olliges had nine points and six steals. Sophomore Hannah Del Rosario led the Bears with five points.
Menlo School 36, Harker 15
The Lady Knights (3-3 WBAL Foothill, 14-5 overall) won a defensive battle on their Senior Night against Harker-San Jose (0-6, 8-10). Junior Sophia Longinidis led Menlo with 13 points, while sophomore Anika Shah and freshman Sierra Wynn totaled eight apiece.
In other action ...
Nueva School (10-7) won its second straight with a 34-29 victory at home over Pescadero (8-6).
Crystal (3-2 WBAL Skyline, 9-5 overall) fell 49-25 at home to the King’s Academy (5-0, 14-5).
