Markson Jacques, El Camino boys’ basketball. Nothing quite like a rivalry win, especially for the always spirited El Camino-South City tradition. it was Jacques who spurred the 61-53 win last Friday over South City, as the junior forward scored 22 points, including a game-tying transition layup in the fourth quarter, and a series of free throws down the stretch amid a 24-15 game-closing run.
Shalein Ekah, Oceana girls’ soccer. Ekah helped lead the Sharks to pair of Ocean Division wins. She scored twice in a 3-0 win over Capuchino and came back with her third goal of the week in a 3-1 win over El Camino.
Daisy Pantoja Beltran, Aragon girls’ basketball. The senior wing rebounded from a lackluster performance in a loss to Menlo-Atherton Wednesday, to lighting up Mills Friday. She scored 11 points in a 54-36 loss to M-A, but came back two days later with a 31-point effort, connecting on 11 field goals in a 63-54 win over Mills.
Khloe Meisenbach, South City girls’ wrestling. Meisenbach delivered a MidCals Classic championship medal for the Warriors, topping the podium in the 149-pound division. Meisenbach finished her run with a pin of Santa Teresa’s Peyton Frost in the finals.
Kate Baron, Sacred Heart Prep girls’ basketball. The senior guard filled it up in three wins for the Gators last week. She opened with 26 points, including four 3-pointers, in a 68-26 WBAL Skyline Division win over Crystal. She filled up the stat sheet in a non-league, 57-41 win over Gunn that saw Baron post a rare triple-double: she scored 24 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and handed out 10 assists. She also had eight steals and two blocks. She capped her week with a 29-point eruption in 61-40 win over King’s Academy.
Kai Gieraths, Terra Nova boys’ basketball. The senior guard did all he could in a pair of Tigers’ losses last week, but not because of Gieraths. He went over the 20-point mark in both games. He opened the week with six 3-pointers on his way to 22 points in a 59-47 loss to Carlmont. He came back on Friday with 23 points and two more 3s in a 51-48 loss to Burlingame.
