Ashley Trierweiler, Carlmont softball. Ashley Trierweiler is on the board! The Scots’ leadoff hitter went 8 for 11 with seven runs scored last week, giving the junior 121 career hits. Among her hit total, she had never recorded a home run — until Saturday. The left-handed hitting Trierweiler homered in a 7-4 non-league win over Gilroy. Last week’s highlight reel also included a 4-for-4 performance in a 10-0 win over Sequoia, the third four-hit game of Trierweiler’s standout career.
Angelo Tonas, Sacred Heart Prep baseball. The senior left-hander just keeps rolling. His latest gem came in SHP’s 3-0 victory against Monte Vista Christian at the Bellarmine Easter Tournament. Tonas worked six innings of one-hit ball while striking out eight before giving way to Reece Lindquist, who closed it out to earn his first save of the year.
Ashleigh Dean, Notre Dame-Belmont softball. Sophomore Dean did it all in the Tigers’ eight-inning, non-league, 7-6 win March 28 over Sacred Heart Cathedral. Dean crushed a home run and drove in three runs in the Tigers’ five-run fifth. She also locked down the win in the pitcher's circle, with four innings of relief.
Krissy Smoot, Notre Dame-Belmont track and field. The junior’s eight-place discus throw at the Arcadia Invitational was not only a personal record, it also marked the best throw for anyone from the Central Coast Section this year. Smoot hurled the disc 140 feet, 10 inches on her first throw of the day, giving her the edge on the CCS leaderboard over burgeoning rival Carly Watts of Terra Nova, whose best throw of the year is 137-1 — good for second in CCS — from the March 17 St. Francis Invitational.
Jack Warren, San Mateo baseball. It was deuces wild for senior first baseman Warren in the Bearcats’ 7-2 win March 27 over crosstown rival Aragon. He had two hits, two doubles, two runs scored and two RBIs in San Mateo’s first Ocean Division victory of the season.
Guiliana Selvitella, San Mateo softball. A freshman, who is currently serving as the Bearcats’ designated hitter, made a splash in her first game in three weeks March 27 because of a wrist injury. In helping lead San Mateo to its first win over rival Burlingame since before the 2005 season, Selvitella went 3 for 4 with a double, two runs scored and a RBI in a 10-3 win over the Panthers.

Jordan Brandenburg and David Bedrosian, Carlmont baseball. Two weeks ago, the junior Bedrosian batted .545 at the prestigious Boras Classic in Sacramento and capped his week with the game-winning hit in a 5-4 walk-off win over Hillsdale. Last week, Brandenburg The senior slugged the Scots to a 2-1 record, driving in five runs in the process. He stroked a two-run homer in a 7-3 win over Hillsdale and followed that with a 3-for-4, three-RBI performance, including the game-winner, in a 7-6 victory over Terra Nova.
Tommy Barnds, Sacred Heart Prep boys’ lacrosse. Barnds scored five goals to lead the Gators to a 15-7, non-league win over Santa Margarita.
Sterling Miller, Aragon baseball. Making just the second varsity start of his career, Miller had just about the weirdest 1-for-3, four-RBIs day possible. The junior slugger recorded his first varsity home run, a solo shot, and added a sacrifice fly, a bases loaded walk and a bases loaded hit by pitch in the Dons’ 14-0 non-league win over Washington.
Page and Abby Wolfenden, Menlo School girls’ lacrosse. The Wolfenden sisters combined for six goals and two assists in an 11-8 non-league win March 27 over Carondelet-Concord. Page, a sophomore, scored four times to lead the Knights. Senior Abby added two goals and assisted on two others.
Charlotte Tomkinson, Menlo School girls’ track and field. The sophomore took third place in the girls’ 800 meter Saturday at the Arcadia Invitational, recording a time of 2:14.07, just 17 one-hundredths of a second off the first-place time. Tomkinson’s time was a new PR, and also registers as the second best time in CCS this season.
Robert Miranda, Menlo School boys’ track and field. When Miranda PRs in April, look out, because it means the senior is warmed up for a big finish to his prestigious running career. Miranda took second place in the boys’ 3,200 meter Saturday at the Arcadia Invitational with a time of 9:08.05, also good for the best time by a CCS runner this season.
