Editor,
Israel and Palestine have been at war for a long time, people need to understand what is happening now. First Hamas bombed Israel without notice and kidnapped hundreds of their citizens.
Think for a moment and imagine if that happened in the United States. Israel retaliated by bombing Palestine in search of Hamas. Thousands of Palestine civilians died during these attacks. For what it’s worth, Israel informed Palestine where they were about to attack. Hamas used the Palestinians as human shields hiding in schools, hospitals and anywhere where people were. Hamas soldiers proved to be simple cowards. Hamas made it clear that they wanted to eliminate Israel and all their people from the world. This newest war has got the world involved.
I’m not Jewish or Palestinian, both sides of this war are wrong, and both are paying the price, the people of Palestine more than the people of Israel. Hamas started this war with no plans to stop until Israel no longer exists. Hamas doesn’t represent the Palestinian people. Palestinians are caught in the middle. Both sides need to sit down and solve their problems without war, the world demands it.
Protests are good, it’s good to see our young adults getting involved; but they need to protest the war without picking sides, both sides are guilty. Does that sound simplistic, sure, but these two sides are getting farther apart. For two countries that strongly believe in their religion something is really missing. The world leaders need to demand an end to this senseless war.

Good analysis, Captain. Miss hearing more of your thoughts.
A lot of good points but you miss the biggest which is Iran sponsors and arms Hamas as their proxy against Israel. The Palestinians have no say and Israel has no choice but to root our Hamas and defeat it. Israel is also threatened by Iran's other proxy Hezbollah on Israel's northern boarder which would require Israel to fight two wars at once for its survival. It is Hamas who hides among civilians and Iran who funds them that causes the deaths of Palestinians.
