Editor,

What an opportunity for a savvy real estate investor or affordable housing advocacy organization. Bing Crosby’s former home in Hillsborough that sits on 3 acres is on the market for just under $14 million. Think of the opportunities this could give with the mandates coming from Sacramento demanding more housing in California. Not only can the main house remain on 1 acre, but just imagine how many 10-plexes you could build on 2 acres. Surely this would satisfy Sen. Scott Weiner’s and Toni Atkins‘ SB 9 proposed changes to R1 single family neighborhoods.

A fantastic idea, Ms. Marcopulos. Let’s see if Hillsborough will set an example for the rest of the county. I wouldn’t bet on it, but I would like to hear some of the excuses. They may provide fodder for your next letter.
