Editor,
In response to Lynda Romero’s Oct. 28 letter where she says “vote blue no matter who,” I’d like to point out this is precisely the anti-democratic message that elects invalids like Fetterman in Pennsylvania and Biden in Washington, D.C.
Editor,
In response to Lynda Romero’s Oct. 28 letter where she says “vote blue no matter who,” I’d like to point out this is precisely the anti-democratic message that elects invalids like Fetterman in Pennsylvania and Biden in Washington, D.C.
I voted for Kevin Mullin because the other candidate on the ballot is woke-wannabe David Canepa. Both are Democrats, both are blue. In this case, lacking a red candidate, I chose the lesser of two evils, the more moderate candidate. It matters who we select, who we discern to be the best available choice for the office. Democracy hinges on this principle. To simply close one’s eyes and choose blue would go against the principle of voter discernment, as you might re-elect Diane Feinstein even though her age has caught up with her and she is no longer fit to serve.
In any case, the Republicans, the party of common sense, have an advantage going into Nov. 8, even in deep blue California!

Mr. Constantino,
Congratulations on your LTE brining a laugh and smile to many readers. The Republicans, the party of common sense...Other than a handful, I can't remember the last time they had common sense. At least 20 years or more, maybe 30 or 40.
Taffy, it’ll take you at least 20 years or more, maybe 30 or 40, to come up with a bumbling Biden accomplishment. Sorry, attempting to shake hands with an invisible man, multiple times, is not an accomplishment. Meanwhile America continues to burn under Dem’s America Last policies. Let’s hope common sense prevails during the upcoming election and we begin to Make America Great Again. More of the right choices, even if it’s the choice between the lesser of two evils, as Mr. Constantino wisely states.
Mr.Constantino - Great post! Thanks! Truth and wisdom which speaks for many.
Mr. Constantino, I agree voters should always vote for the discerned best possible candidate for any office. However, the wisdom of your final sentence eludes me. Republicans the party of common sense? Not hardly. Unless you think all the Trumpists who attacked the Capitol on 1/6 used common sense. Unless you think the 250 odd people running for office on the platform of Biden not being the winner of the last election are using common sense. The fact is the Republican Party in its current iteration has not used common sense since Trump showed up and is not likely to do so as long as it wishes to be a cult rather than be a party.
On the matter of common sense... let's see common sense in play next week for all Americans... red or blue, any color and every color.
