On Tuesday, Sept. 10, Charlie Kirk was murdered while hosting an event at Utah Valley University. A father, son and husband gone because someone didn’t agree with his views.

Thanks for your letter, Mr. Guttenbeil. I agree with your conclusions but, and let me borrow from Obama and Newsom, let me be clear - although extreme sides of both parties are to blame, the radical left (even those not so extreme) deserves vastly more of the blame. Full stop. One can go to YouTube and review footage of Eric Schmitt’s recent questioning of Kash Patel, Schmitt highlights the violence committed by the left targeting conservatives, Christians, Trump supporters and random citizens. Let’s see if Democrats follow your advice but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the small Democrat minority taking the lead and controlling party messages decide to double and triple down on their violent rhetoric. We’ve already seen it. Let’s hope the American people hold them accountable. The folks that hate America have shown us who they are – we should believe them.
