Editor,

I was shocked to receive direct mail from the California Apartment Association, as opposition literature to the campaign of Diana Reddy, who is running for City Council in Redwood City.

I believe Ms. Reddy has been quite strident in her views on rent control which, if enacted in Redwood City, would have an devastating financial impact on hundreds on small property owners. Haven't seen the mailer in question but it is understandable why the CAA is trying to protect its members.

Small wonder that Ms. Reddy does not want to own her record. For years, she has been trying to spread her particular brand of ant-homeowner vitriol throughout other cities on the Peninsula. Informed voters in Burlingame, Pacifica and San Mateo know that Rent Control Reddy seeks to destroy housing. Cheers to professional trade associations who work hard to protect private property rights.

Thank you California Apartment Association for pointing out the truth. Ms. Reddy has unsuccessfully supported dangerous and harmful housing policies for years in Pacifica, San Mateo, Burlingame and other cities. Let's hope Redwood City voters are smart enough to reject her and her anti-housing and anti-neighborhoods policies too.

Dangerous and harmful to whom?

Ther is a very easy way to determine what Ms; Reddy believes, just pull up the donor rolls to Measures C, R, & Q and see the money she donated to overthrow private property rights in these cities. Watch out Redwood City, Ms. Reddy is now coming for your home as well.

Let the truth be the beacon of relevance. I have witnessed her talks in front of councils and I have seen her on display bolstering the activist community urging the reduction of private property rights. Protest as you will Julie though it doesn't change the facts.

Am curious, has candidate Reddy offered any public statements disavowing the positions the CAA has attributed to her?
