It would appear that Caltrain is hanging its future on its new electric trains in hopes to reacquire its pre-COVID ridership. Let’s take a closer look at where that lost ridership went.

Well written Mr. Howard, but the new electric trains were never meant for ridership. This electric train project is to reward union labor. And because we all know these electric trains will likely operate at close to 100% capacity even though there’s only 40% or less demand, we need to continually pay union labor. Kind of like now, with current train operations.
