What is going on at Caltrain (“Caltrain scopes a new electric train schedule”)? Why are they adding train service when there is no demand for it? And, if there might be, where is the data to back it up? The entire concept of adding train service post-electrification was based on pre-pandemic ridership levels. Isn’t ridership currently about one-third of what it was when the entire electrification plan was put in place.

Great letter, C.J. but we all know that public transportation needs to make-work to keep their employees at current staffing levels instead of being fiscally responsible and cutting expenses. Don’t be surprised when we see another tax floated to subsidize these folks and their ever increasing pensions and benefits. After all, why not continue to fleece taxpayers if there’s no accountability. As Mr. Fowler says below…
