I am astonished about this attitude. If parents plan to have children they should be educated on what it takes to be a responsible, caring parent. The best and most wonderful thing we can give a small child is the loving care of a mother or a father. Yes, a home-stay mom or a home-stay dad. This is a full-time job but often ridiculed and looked at with disdain. However, that is how I grew up and that is how I brought up my children. I was grateful that I never was alone but surrounded by loving care and wanted to do the same for my family. I never relied on government or employer support and therefore cannot understand this issue. Being a parent, a mom, or a father, and being there for your children, is the most fulfilling task one can have in my opinion — which may be old tradition.
