SCOOT, the San Carlos award winning shuttle service, benefits everyone in San Carlos. It provides over 15,000 rides per month to San Carlos residents and continues to steadily increase. For example, January's numbers were closer to 18,000 rides. That comes out to approximately 550 unique riders using SCOOT each and every week day.
No matter how you count it, these shuttle buses are taking a huge number of cars off the road, decreasing the traffic congestion, increasing the air quality and making our city streets safer. The improvement to quality of life for our town is immeasurable.
What about the cost? While we all want to minimize our taxes as much as possible, when the right idea comes along, it's worth funding. SCOOT service is the only one of its kind in the county, serving as a model for other communities. Don't let this critical service get derailed.
Please vote yes on Measure T and keep San Carlos moving in the right direction.
