Editor,

In May 2024 on CBS, the pope talked about the wars, the injustices, the crimes. He continued with “that’s OK, that’s OK, and [they] washed their hands.” He further stated, “it’s the indifference — that’s what happens when the heart hardens; please, we have to get our hearts to feel again; we cannot remain indifferent in the face of such human dramas; and globalization of indifference is a very ugly disease.”

Here we go again… Sorry, Mr. Dorschkind, but when Hamas launched a surprise attack that killed over 1000 people and took hostages, they made their bed. They’ll continue to reap what they sow if they don’t return all hostages and surrender unconditionally. More power to Netanyahu to complete his mission. The bigger question, though…why are you not criticizing or showing the same outrage at those who are funding and arming Hamas? Why are their leaders indifferent? Perhaps the answer is that their hearts have hardened.

Yes, and quite different from the Catholic priests who have been sexually abusing little kids for hundreds of years, and the only out-of-the closet Catholic in my own otherwise nice, free-thinking neighborhood, who had been raping his daughters for years.

What? No mention of the San Bruno teacher convicted of 17 counts? Been well covered in DJ.

Way too many to count, I suppose!
