As I drive on Highway 101, I cannot help but wonder why work crews are seemingly no longer helping clean and maintain the highways. Certainly we could use the help to keep our streets clean and we have plenty of people sitting in jail. I say we should make use of them and give them time off their sentences for time worked. Just about everywhere along the peninsula would benefit from some kind of beautification. Who knows, some prisoners may relish the chance to work outside and learn the value of a hard day’s work.
