I was the recent recipient of an unsigned letter written by a DJ reader who felt compelled to remind me of Trump’s shortcomings and specifically, his moral character. The writer implored me to include those negative attributes when I submit a pro-Trump LTE. Now, since we are faced with two candidates for the presidency, we do need to evaluate what either person will mean to our country and what they will do to enhance our personal lives and those of our loved ones.
Trump is not an angel and does not pretend to be. He is a complicated and controversial person. Then we have an appointed candidate, Harris, who has been either absent, lying about Biden’s state of mind, and relatively ineffective during the last 3 1/2 years as his VP. Harris did not need to go through a primary election process and was, until recently, considered unelectable by even the most leftist press. While Trump’s personal life has been exposed and ridiculed by the media, no such scrutiny is leveled at Harris. She was the paramour of a high-level California politician who set her up for and guided her career. She married a philandering person who impregnated his nanny, whereupon his first wife divorced him.
The point is, if we are to vote for a candidate based on moral values, we have a dilemma on our hands. But based on Trump’s record to further the interests and prosperity of all citizens, the choice is clear. Vote Trump!

Thanks very much for your letter, Mr. van Ulden, pointing out that everyone is human and has moral shortcomings. However, we know one of the humans, Trump, has Made America Great Again, regardless of his alleged moral shortcomings, and can do so again. We need folks to stop hating Trump more than they love America. Vote for Trump to Make America Great Once Again.
Seriously, Dirk, - you are comparing Trump’s real and Harris’ alleged shortcomings? That’s like comparing an elephant with an ant! Books have been written about Trump’s failures and misdeeds, while the books written about Harris have been about her good deeds. Haven't we seen enough of both to make a more valid comparison than your silly, R-inspired one?

You were questioning MY principles, Dirk! So, again, what did you mean, or had in mind? Don't wiggle out of it again, be honest!
Jorg -the principle that I was trying to convey is the morality of both candidates. Both have an morality issue that you have no problem assigning to Trump but you are letting Harris off the hook.
Dirk: You are avoiding addressing what you accused me of: "Principles have never bothered you, have they?" What did you mean, - or just another thing you just tossed out to see if it would stick?
Dirk: Being as blindly gaga about someone as unprincipled as your cult leader Trump, how can you question someone else’s principles? But, for the record, let me surprise you by revealing one of mine: I prefer to be good for goodness’ sake, not in hope of being rewarded by some imaginary favors from a made-up fantasy figure hiding way up in the sky somewhere. Dirk, making Trump comparable to Harris is a false equivalency on nearly any grounds. For instance, our choices for the next election are as follows: young vs old; pro-choice vs pro-life; classy vs trashy; prosecutor vs felon; brat vs brut; fit vs unfit; pro NATO vs pro Putin; cool vs weird; progressive vs regressive; moral vs amoral; optimism vs pessimism; Constitution vs Project 2025; democracy vs autocracy; pro military vs anti-military; liberal vs conservative and change vs the status quo. The differences could not be more clear. Were this country not racist and misogynistic, Harris would win in a landslide.
Hey Rel - you don't know a thing about Harris do you? Please educate yourself before you lash out with your white washing. Originality has never been your strength, so keep it up.

Hey Rel, you forgot the most important comparison of all: Hidin’ Harris and Stolen Valor Walz’s continuation of Biden’s America Last policies vs. our great President Trump and Vance’s renewal of America First policies. Vote for Trump/Vance to Make America Great Once Again.
As for your plea with Dirk in, “discussing the differences we placed with plenty of evidence” why don’t you start? In the past, I’ve provided evidence that Obama put kids in cages and Pelosi enabled your so-called Jan. 6 “insurrection” yet you continue failing to acknowledge these truths. What makes us think providing more truths will make a difference to you? It hasn't so far.
Harris reminds me too much of Trump. Both are pure bigots. Harris is anti-Catholic to the point she attacked the Knights of Columbus. I still can't get over her asking Kavanaugh if he knew of a law that has control over a man's body. Guess she never heard of the draft.
And let's not forget that President Biden saved our Democracy by preventing Trump from sneaking into the WH again, - an office he had already abused so badly for his own sick pleasure.
