Editor,

It’s obvious that Jorg Aadahl has been drinking the Democratic Kool-Aid (Letter to the editor, “A dilemma of Republican proportion” in the Jan. 4 edition of the Daily Journal).

Terence,

When did you change your name to Neil Wild?

Jorg

The D-K syndrome seems to have taken over the most Trump-infested ranks among the Republicans: Not only don’t they understand the most obvious, but they don’t understand that they don’t understand, - even what the steadily growing and better-informed majority understands better and better. Any antidote available, short of confinement to the Wild-ernes?

Ray Fowler

Good morning, Jorg

I have a little different take on Neil's LTE. I'll get to that later...

Remember... the D-K theorists believe the syndrome applies to persons on both sides of a discussion. Did you get a chance to look over the D-K examples I emailed to you?

Jorg

I did. Lack of a response I thought would be enough of a response? No?

Ray Fowler

Jorg

You posted at 9:03 am that you thought a lack of response was sufficient. That lasted until 9:10 am when you responded to the examples I emailed to you because you asked for examples of the D-K syndrome in your own writing.

It seems you believe the D-K syndrome... that says persons on both sides of a discussion overestimate their understanding of the topic being considered... applies to everyone except... you.

If you would like another example, spend a little time reading your comments following Al Comolli's LTE published in the DJ last Thursday.

Roger, over and out...

Jorg

Ray: Although I didn’t feel it was necessary for me to waste my time responding to your e-mail, I did so anyway when you wondered why I hadn’t. So why are you still complaining?

Thanks for your letter, Neil, reiterating and especially for letting folks who have contracted IBS (Ignore Biden Syndrome) in on the truth. Example - we have Jorg’s self-diagnosed D-K (Dancing-Kween) syndrome he’s ascribing to others. It’s his way of coping with TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) exacerbated by IBS. It’s not surprising TDS-IBS-infested folks are doing anything and everything to distract from treasonous Biden and his America Last policies. When challenged to list a Biden accomplishment, they fold like cheap suits. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear any antidote or vaccine is available for these victims. Meanwhile, keep those letters coming.

I have to ask Neil and TY, what part of 8th grade Government class did you guys not understand, or, for that matter, flunk? According to the U.S. Constitution, government (applies to Federal, State, Local) main task is to "ensure the well-being of its citizens". I know that, that sounds like a very wide description, but, that's what it says. Government is not designed to make a profit, but, to spend taxpayers' money on the "well-being of its citizens". Biden and the Democrats are doing just that. I know that history, facts, truth and evidence, is not your thing Neil and TY, so I am not surprised that you are now defending Trump by saying he tweeted 'stay calm' to his followers on Jan. 6. This is a complete lie. There has been evidence and witnesses reported in the media for the past 12-18 months of what Trump really did that day. Nice try TY, but, it won't work, lying never does.

Terence Y

Mike O. – I have to ask, how many reading comprehension classes did you not understand, or, for that matter, flunk? Let’s look a quick at your “well-being of its citizens.” How is kneeling to and providing $80 billion in arms to the Taliban provide well-being to our citizens? How does providing tens of $billions, maybe $100 billion by now, to Ukraine provide for the well-being of our citizens? How does an infrastructure bill that provides only 5% for infrastructure provide well-being to our citizens? How does losing $30 billion to EDD fraud provide well-being to our citizens? How does defunding the police provide well-being to our citizens? I could go on, and on, and on, but I think you get the picture.

As for our great President Trump - you’re saying what Trump said on his tweets (from his mouth) is a complete lie. Instead, you believe that “evidence and witnesses reported in the media” (not from Trump’s mouth) is true? Please. Your evidence is based on what people want to put in Trump’s mouth and your so-called witnesses are hearsay witnesses. Let me provide an example… Although you’ve documented here, and in other comments, that “orange man bad” (from your mouth) in reality, anonymous sources (not from your mouth) tell me your bias against Trump is a lie and you’re only doing so because you’re unable to stand up to peer pressure in this blue state. See how that works? I discount words from your mouth because I want to believe “witness” reports more. Nice Try, Mike O., but it won’t work, lying never does.

BTW, if you look over comments on this LTE, have you noticed nobody on the rabid left is able to defend Biden from Neil’s assertions? At least you and Rel tried (but failed). Notice anything else? Comments from the rabid left are inevitable filled with easily debunked fake news and lies. As you said, lying never works. And I’d add that willful ignorance is no excuse.

Ray Fowler

Hello, Neil

I usually read the best and worst presidents lists with some amusement. They don't bring very much to the conversation IMO. I don't think we can really say any president is the "worst" ever... that's just me. I'd like to keep the focus as much on positions rather than personalities whenever it's possible. That being said...

I am no Biden fan but my misgivings about his presidency stem from policy failures. As a NPP voter, I would vote for the DNC nominee in 2024 but probably not Joe or Kamala or Pete or Gavin or Bernie... then the bench gets a lot thinner. If the DNC can hold the White House next year and someone other than Joe is sworn in on Jan. 25, 2025...it probably won't be too long after the inauguration before we see LTEs proclaiming "President Schmuckatelli... worst president ever." And if the RNC wins, we'll most assuredly will see LTEs saying the same thing about the new Republican moving into the Oval Office.

Rel

Thank you Neil for living up to your namesake as you gave us some "wild" assertions! Yes, that darn Biden. He only helped create record job creations, gave us a landmark infrastructure bill, lowered prescription drug prices, killed the top Al Qaeda leader, reopened our schools, protected the environment, restored our alliances, provided student debt relief and tackled inflation All this in two years time while facing a totally obstructionist Republican party. Now it’s time for his administration to prosecute a career criminal for violating the Espionage Act and inciting an insurrection.

Terence Y

Rel – sorry, but your supposed accomplishments for darn Biden aren’t accomplishments. Creating jobs? More like trying to take credit for the refilling of jobs lost to idiotic business closures. An infrastructure bill that spends roughly 5% on real infrastructure and the other 95% on garbage is an accomplishment? Your other “wild” assertions are just as easily debunked. Instead, let's look at Biden’s verifiable incompetence… rising crime rates, rising inflation, rising invasion from the south… I could go on… As for your so-called “insurrection” perhaps you should look at our great President Trump’s tweets on January 6 and you’ll notice that he tweeted to “remain peaceful” or “Stay peaceful!” to his 80+ million followers, debunking the so-called insurrection narrative. Perhaps, like Jorg, you need to invest in a dictionary and look up, and more importantly, understand “peaceful.”

Sadly, we’re in a New Year but we get the same old, same old from TDS-infected folks who can’t accept the truth. Can we really blame them? If these folks didn’t have their fake news and lies jibber-jabber, what would they bring to any conversation? Fortunately, in a matter of minutes, sometimes seconds, we can easily debunk their fake news and lies. Congratulations to Mr. Wild for driving TDS-infected folks “wild” with their “wild” assertions. Wait, can we say a real accomplishment of Biden is that he hasn’t started WWIII?

Jorg

TY: Of course, no one in his/her right mind would think you are serious. We all understand you are joking, and some may even find it funny, kind of. But with all jokes, even good ones, if repeated too much, will eventually fall dead. So, let me put it as nicely and gently as I can: your perpetual Trump jokes are not funny anymore. We got it, quite a while ago for most of us. A joke can only be twisted so many times, before it becomes boring - especially a bad one. Ever wonder why no one even on your “side” has come out to agree with you re. your incessant T-jokes? If nothing else, out of respect for all those who have suffered because of Trump’s shenanigans, crimes, cheating, and behavior resulting in so many lost lives and so much unnecessary suffering, you should cool it down a bit. Enough is enough, even for someone who apparently doesn’t have more to offer than you do. Btw.: Did you watch CNN’s documentary on the Jan. 6 insurrection? If so, did you learn anything? If not, why?

Dirk van Ulden

Jorg - could you please "as nicely and gently" as you can, corroborate these statements "Trump’s shenanigans, crimes, cheating, and behavior resulting in so many lost lives and so much unnecessary suffering" Are you sure you are not talking about the guy that is currently thoroughly mismanaging this Country?

Jorg

Dirk: Is that just another sick joke, or are you really so out of touch with reality? Don’t you watch any news at all, or read anything? My goodness, I have no magic cure for such total confusion.

Terence Y

Zzzz… Dear readers, I present Jorg, TDS-infected Exhibit #1, where again we get the same old, same old, willful ignorance of the truth along with another smattering of debunked fake news and lies. What’s on the playlist today, Jorg? “You Make Me Feel Like Dancing” from Leo Sayer? BTW, why aren’t you sharing any exclamation points with me? You know, the only valid points you ever have.

Jorg

Thanks, Rel, for your outline, which should be easy enough to understand, even for most, but probably not for the writer of this LTE. My goodness how totally lost can someone be! The simple instructions they must have been given, boil down to: “None of the negatives under Trump should be blamed on him, while none of the positives under Biden should be credited him!”

SMpool

How very sad to see that today, 2 full years after the violent, tRump-fueled, insurrection and attack on our Capitol, legislators, and police officers, Rethuglicans (and I distinguish these from actual conservatives and the Republican party before it morphed into Tea Party and Freedom Caucus and MAGA insanity) are still denying the culpability of their con man former leader and turning a blind eye to the grift, corruption, and dismantling of government of the last administration. This is why I fear for our fragile democracy - when misogyny, xenophobia, toxic masculinity, and wild conspiracy theories become the norm, we are lost.

Terence Y

How very sad to see that today, 2 full years after the made up insurrection narrative, Dimmocrats (and I distinguish these from actual Democrats not infected with Trump Derangement Syndrome) are still easily fooled by fake news and lies. Hey SMpool, all you need to do is take a gander over to our great President Trump’s tweets on January 6 and you’ll notice that he tweeted to “remain peaceful” or “Stay peaceful!” to his 80+ million followers, debunking the so-called insurrection garbage. I fear for our fragile democracy when ignorance is bliss has become the norm because folks are too lazy to do the work to find, and accept, the truth. If anything, we should take a moment to honor Ashli Babbitt, murdered by a trigger-happy Capitol cop. A murder which may not have occurred had Nancy Pelosi done her job to keep the Capitol safe. One can only hope Dimmocrats stop falling for easily debunked conspiracy theories, but unfortunately, if past history is a predictor of future results, I wouldn’t count on it.
