Any man can make decisions that he or she has no background in if he gets expert advice from those that do, that makes that man intelligent.
Take a man that hires advisors that are experts in the field to give him the knowledge to make those important decision and completely ignores them and even goes farther ignoring people close to him who tell him he’s wrong in what he’s doing, what do we call that man? You may call him president but the rest of us call him dangerous.
and only one of those men was elected by the people of the United States. That man is Donald J Trump and he is president of our country. The advisors were not elected. Might want to remember that.
Chris - Robert Nice wrote a cogent letter to the editor. Have you EVER given another reader props for writing a well thought out and intelligent message. Me personally I would rather attach my allegiance to what Mr.Nice said.
He is a life long Fire Fighter who for 30+++ years dedicated himself to helping people, saving people and making our planet a better place to live, not only for he and his family, but for everybody.
That is called giving service, giving back and I have agreed with 99% of all of RN's posts throughout his posting on the SMDJ.
What have you done - while growing up to make San Mateo and our country a better place for our siblings and immediate families?
Whenever I read any of your posts -you besmirch any and all that don't see it your way.
His letter is not cogent but inflammatory. What qualifies him to be a better contributor than Mr. Trump or Mr. Conway? 30 Years of firefighting? By being President, Mr. Trump already gave up more of his regular income stream than most of us will ever do in a hundred years. As far as I am concerned the US is already a much better place than it was 2 years ago. If disagreeing is now besmirching or even hate we have certainly lost our democracy. Our last Manchurian president helped that notion along nicely.
Dear Anonymous Twit- Don't read my posts then. This is an opinion section and I'm giving my opinion. People feel free to slam my president, it is their right, I stand up for him each and every time which is my right. You don't like it, maybe you shouldn't read it because I will not be stopping anytime soon. Got it. Good.
Let’s not forget that the majority were bright enough to realize that Donald Trump didn’t have a fiber of presidential potential, - a majority that has grown steadily once it became even more obvious how inept he is and how incompetent and unqualified he is for the highest office in the world. Only the most gullible and easily fooled wish him a second term, - in addition to foreign enemies that prefer Trump since he is so easy to maneuver and take advantage of. With some respect for the office of the Presidency, we realize that such an important job deserves a person of the highest moral and professional quality, someone well educated for the job, and wise enough to surround himself with the most capable people he can find, and not someone we expect to lie whenever he opens his mouth, someone who has become a laughingstock around the world, - someone who doesn’t seem to have a clue to what a democratic government is all about, - not to mention capable enough to find and retain competent people for important jobs.
And Jorg, blah, blah and blah. Alert! Group think in progress. Straight from the Democratic Party playbook. While Mr. Trump is foregoing his vacation in Florida, your Party leader is ignoring the plight of the furloughed workers and is sun bathing in Hawaii. She is really concerned about the disenfranchised.
And Mr. Nice, these are the same experts who got us involved in Iraq, Syria, ISIS domination, Cuba recognition and Libya's disaster. What is your definition of an 'expert' anyway? President Trump has apparently had it with the self proclaimed experts. He promised a new direction and that is where we are going. Let's save our national security, not of those countries that have not been willing to do that for a few hundred years.
When I read your letter, it's obvious you're talking about Liar-in-Chief Obama. It's okay to name Obama, as his legacy is being dismantled, one day at a time. Current and future investigations will show just how much harm his corrupt administration and his sycophants have done to America. Wake up, America, indeed, as that's what America did, when they elected Trump. Great letter!

Dear CC: Do you think my board name is any different than "Jorg" ? Various people have 'nom de plume's' which are pen names (do you know that?). Your politics have not change much since we met near Emerald Hills @ RWC and again at a function in Aptos. Pops called you a bull in a china closet once. Tread softly keemosabe and remember - it is about service - about giving back that defines you. In a few yrs The Donald will be but a bad memory.
What about don't read my posts don't you understand. You seem to not take the words from my deceased father very well if that is whose father you are referring. I am a bull in a China shop- not a closet, and I do so with the without anonymity. Just look at my avatar and you get a good idea what I am all about. It is a war started by the left, Trump has been elected to sacrifice his life and defend our country's values, I stand right with him and do it very proudly. I don't even know who you are yet you seem to respond to every one of my posts in a very personal way- sad - kind of like a stalker. I do hope it is good for the SMDJ though, that would be a good thing.
