Election day is just around the corner and the race for the San Mateo County treasurer-tax collector is of great importance to the residents of San Mateo County. Of the candidates vying for the position there is one that concerns me greatly, Joe Galligan. During Joe’s eight-year term as a member of the Burlingame City Council, two of which were as the mayor, Joe Galligan along with other councilmembers at the time started the city into its current fiscal troubles by not properly managing the city’s budget. Â
Based upon Joe’s Galligan elected record of managing public funds Joe Galligan, in my opinion, should not be elected to hold this very important position for San Mateo County’s treasurer-tax collector. I would not want to gamble on a repeat performance with regards to how Joe Galligan would manage the county’s public funds. Â
