Mary Margaret Corley Johnson, born May 1, 1921, in San Francisco, died Oct. 4, 2018, surrounded by family.
She was the eldest of four daughters to Irish parents Patrick and Anne. Mary met her husband of 74 years, Navy CPO John Johnson, at Playland at the Beach, and worked at the INS, Angel Island.
Settling in San Carlos in 1953, Mary and John raised three children Kathleen, Paul and Teresa. Mary was a loving mother, wife and homemaker. She was an active member at St. Charles Catholic Church, volunteer at St. Francis Center in Redwood City, and part of the Belmont Trailer Club.
Mary is remembered as a true advocate for faith, family and friendship. She is survived by her husband John (age 101), sisters Helen McGinty, Dolores O’Sullivan, children Kathy (Jim Phillips), Paul (Toni Rafols), Teresa (Ted Mumm), grandchildren Mary (Blake Dournaee), Katie, Kristine (Scott Kent), Meagan, Michael, Mark, Hannah and great-grandchildren Patrick, John and Mathew.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. Oct. 9 at Crippen and Flynn Carlmont Chapel, Belmont. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Oct. 10, St. Charles, San Carlos.
