Jane Valentine Nazzaro, 81, of San Mateo, died on August 7 at home following a brief illness, her beloved husband David, of 54 years by her side.
She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 10, 1944 and moved to Van Nuys, California when she was nine years old. She was a graduate of Birmingham High School (62’), Santa Barbara Community College and San Jose State University, where she received a bachelor’s of business degree in 1967. During her successful business career, she earned numerous professional certifications.
Jane enjoyed traveling with her loving husband David both domestically and internationally. She was an avid walker and reader, and enjoyed Pilates, she was always on the move. Jane had a real flair for seasonal decorating and was a die hard Dodgers and Rams fan, a fact she would slip into many conversations. She greatly enjoyed St. Bart’s Bridge and the elaborate meals with the Gourmet Dinner Groups at St. Bartholomew Parish, she was a vivacious person who loved new experiences. Her family appreciated her remembrance of everyone’s birthdays and special occasions marked by cards with messages in her lavishly cursive handwriting.
She is survived by her husband, David Nazarro, her son, David Thomas Nazzaro of San Mateo, CA, her sister Nancy Valentine, sister-in-law Nancy O’Connell, nieces Terry Cleary, Marie Nazzaro, Louise D’Amato, Debra Altschiller and nephews Scott O’Connell, Alfred Nazzaro, Richard Nazzaro and numerous great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her mother Anna Rose (Kall) Valentine, her father, Francis Valentine, brothers in law Francis O’Connell, Richard Nazzaro and sister in law Phyllis Nazarro.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 at St. Bartholomew Parish, 600 Columbia Drive, San Mateo, California with reception to follow.
