Gloria Galeotti (née Giorgi) passed away peacefully at the age of 98, leaving a legacy of love, service, and cherished memories. Born on November 14, 1926, in Sacramento, California, Gloria was the beloved daughter of Bruno and Ida Giorgi (née Ceccehtini), her father Bruno immigrated from Lucca, Italy.
A lifelong Catholic, Gloria’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She attended Sacred Heart School in Sacramento and graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy. In 1949, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Samuel Merritt College in Oakland, California, and devoted herself to a remarkable career in healthcare, retiring from full-time nursing in 2013.
Gloria married Mario “Ted” Galeotti in 1952, and together they built a life filled with love, family, and joy in South San Francisco. They raised three children—Lynn (b. 1953), Paul (b. 1955), and David (b. 1957)—and spent over 50 years in their Orange Avenue home. Gloria and Ted enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and Europe, and they were known for hosting vibrant gatherings for friends and family.
Gloria was an exceptional cook who delighted her family with her culinary talents, especially during the holidays, and always ensured her grandsons had a special dessert waiting for them. Her kindness and dedication extended to her church community at All Souls Parish, where she was an active member for over 30 years. Gloria received the honor of person on the year by the Italian American Citizens Club for her work in the Italian community and dedicated many years as past president of the ICF - Italian Catholic Federation.
Fluent in Italian, Gloria cultivated strong ties with her extended family in Italy, maintaining meaningful relationships that spanned generations.
Gloria is survived by her children, Lynn Galeotti, Paul Galeotti, and David Galeotti; her grandsons, Sharif Mostafa, Bryan Galeotti, Michael Galeotti, and Donald Solovy (by marriage); and her sister, Patricia Bertacchi (née Giorgi).
Gloria’s life of 98 years was filled with love, faith, and service. She leaves behind a lasting impact on all who knew her and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community.
