Gene C. Hoy

On June 10, 1932, Gene C. Hoy was born the 7th child of the Thomas family in Oakland, CA; adopted at 6 months old into the Hoy family. Gene was predeceased by his mother, Olga Hoy, his five older siblings, his infant son, Paul, and just a year ago by his beloved wife, Joan. He is survived by his 7 children, Mark, Don, Steve, Matt, Karen, Glenn, and Maureen, their spouses, 9 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Growing up in Hayward, Gene looked up to his sisters, Billie and Asta, and brother, Hugo and wife Frances, who gave him love and helped him rise above his deprivation with a strong work ethic and a sense of duty and responsibility that got him far.
