Collette Teresa Collins, born March 5, 1934, died Jan. 17, 2018.
Collette was from Austin, Minnesota. She graduated from Mankato State with a Bachelor of Science and teaching credential. Collette had an adventurous spirit and moved several places to teach, including Fairbanks, Alaska, where she met her husband. They moved to California where they raised their daughters.
Collette was a loving mother, grandmother and a dedicated teacher. She was an avid reader, enjoyed being with family and friends and going to the coast. She had an infectious smile, a caring heart and a stubborn streak that never slowed her down.
She is survived by her daughters Nicole, Michele, Laurie and Suzanne and five grandchildren. She is preceded by her parents Elizabeth and Henry Coffman, her husband David and six siblings.
Visitation begins at 4 p.m. followed by a vigil 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, at Sneider & Sullivan & O’Connell’s, 977 S. El Camino Real, San Mateo, CA. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 300 Alameda de las Pulgas, San Mateo, CA. Interment at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, CA.
