Betty Jean Ross, age 85, passed away on October 24, 2022, at her home in San Mateo, CA.
Betty was born on May 27, 1937, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She married James B. Ross Sr.† on June 19, 1965 and moved to San Mateo.

Betty was born on May 27, 1937, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She married James B. Ross Sr.† on June 19, 1965 and moved to San Mateo.
She worked as a community liaison for San Mateo Unified School District for 25 years. She was the mother of eight children. Two of her children, Larry and David, preceded her in death. She is survived by her children Juanita, Lonnie, Ronnie, Steve, Jim, and Carol, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins and friends.
A quiet hour will be held from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 followed by a home going celebration at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2022. Both services will be held at Sneider & Sullivan & O’Connell’s Funeral Home, 977 S. El Camino Real, San Mateo, CA. Interment will be at Cypress Lawn Olivet, Colma, CA.
