The streets of Burlingame resembled an airport baggage claim this weekend when police found 11 pieces of luggage on two different street corners.
Shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday, an anonymous caller reported four pieces of luggage sitting on a sidewalk in the 1800 block of Rollins Road. Police searched the bags and found no identifying information except one bottle of prescription medication registered to a Missouri woman from an Osco Drug Store in Missouri, according to Burlingame Police Cmdr. Jack Van Etten.
Police have been unable to locate the woman and do not know if she owns all the bags or just one. Van Etten said one of the other bags had Asian hair products and toys inside, and another contained German literature.
On Sunday, Van Etten said, someone reported seven pieces of luggage on the southwest corner of Rollins Road and Broderick Road. When officers searched these bags they found clothing and normal traveling items. One bag had an owner tag listing a name and address from Natal, South Africa, and another had an airline luggage tag from KLM airlines.
