Millbrae police say a San Lorenzo teenager's reckless driving has landed his father in jail.
A police spokesman said a traffic officer stopped a 17-year-old boy from San Lorenzo on Monday around 9:30 a.m. after he was seen allegedly losing control of his vehicle and nearly hitting other cars as he exited U.S. Highway 101 at Millbrae Avenue.
The boy was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving and the car was towed. During a computer check, police discovered that the boy's father, Steven Holochuck, who was the registered owner of the car, was wanted on a felony warrant for drug possession and driving under the influence.
When Holochuck, 39, arrived to pick up his son, he himself was arrested on the warrant. To make matters worse, a police dog then caught scent of possible drugs in his car, leading police to uncover syringes and other drug paraphernalia.
So while the boy was released on a citation, the father was booked on the warrant and drug possession charges at San Mateo County Jail.
