Teen files $1M claim with county over social worker sex

Manuel Sedillo

A former San Mateo County social worker arrested for allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old client is also charged for a reportedly inappropriate relationship with a second teen during the same time frame.

At the time Manuel Sedillo, 38, of Santa Clara, was arrested in October, authorities said they had investigated an earlier allegation but found it inconclusive. After he was taken into custody, the case was revisited and, on Monday, Sedillo was charged with 20 felonies including lewd acts, oral copulation and statutory rape in both cases, District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.
