A home on the 1600 block of Robin Whipple Way in Belmont had significant smoke damage from a dryer fire Monday morning, according to Belmont police.
At approximately 9:05 a.m., Belmont police and fire units responded to the house on the report of a clothes dryer on fire and found smoke coming out of the open front door. The resident got out of the house before firefighters arrived and was not hurt, according to police.
Electrical problems were the likely cause and the street near the house was closed for about an hour, according to police.
