Cause of Burlingame outage unknown
Officials from Pacific Gas & Electric don't know the cause of a power outage that left 1,045 Burlingame households and businesses in the dark Wednesday morning.
The power was out from 9:20 a.m. until about 1 p.m., said PG&E spokesman Paul Moreno. He said that crews found a downed power line, fixed the problem and tested the equipment to ensure it was working properly before restoring power.
He said officials don't know what caused the downed line.
Moreno said the size and length of the outage depends on the power line, but Wednesday's problem was near a substation, which may explain the large number of people affected.
The outage was centered near the intersection of Toyon Drive and Linden Avenue.

Before the regular meeting begins, the board will undergo its annual reorganization meeting during which new board members will be sworn in and board officers will be elected.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the district board room, 42 W. 42nd Ave., in San Mateo.
