• A familiar face will be leading Hillsdale High School for the upcoming school year — Education Officer Jeff Gilbert. Gilbert is stepping up to fill a vacancy left when principal Yvonne Shiu took the principal’s job at San Mateo High School. Former San Mateo High principal Jacquline McEvoy will be leading Palo Alto High School in the upcoming year.
At the same meeting, the board tabled an item for a new agreement with construction lawyer Mark Haesloop. Haesloop was appointed by the board to help restructure the construction projects and contracts for the upcoming bond redevelopment. He left the legal firm to become an independent consultant. A new contract for his services will be discussed in August.
