City government
• Sara McDowell, Laura Parmer-Lohan and Adam Rak were sworn in as San Carlos’ newest city councilmembers Monday. Mayor Bob Grassilli, Vice Mayor Cameron Johnson and Councilman Matt Grocott ended their terms on the council the same night.Â
Councilmembers unanimously voted for Councilman Mark Olbert to become the San Carlos’ next mayor and Councilman Ron Collins to assume the role of vice mayor.Â
Education
• Shara Watkins was elected as president of the San Mateo-Foster City Elementary School District Board of Trustees, under the board’s annual reorganization which took place Thursday, Dec. 6. Noelia Corzo was named vice president.
• The San Carlos Elementary School District Board of Trustees elected Michelle Nayfack as president, under the board’s annual reorganization during its Thursday, Dec. 6, meeting. Carol Elliot was named vice president.
