More than six months after San Mateo County officials dedicated nearly $765,000 toward legal resources available to immigrants living in the country without proper status, attorneys within a network of agencies are representing 35 individuals in their applications to stay in the country.

By funding four half-time and two full-time attorneys at agencies operating across the county, officials are aiming to expand resources for immigrants facing deportation proceedings in response to swirling fears in that community of stepped-up immigration enforcement actions.

So let me get this straight, someone in the county thinks it’s a good idea to use taxpayer money to assist those who are in our country illegally and have broken our laws. How offensive to the citizenry of San Mateo county for our officials to use our money for such an idiotic, illegal purpose. I would like to know if our county could be sued for this allocation of resources to this outrageous purpose. It is becoming more and more apparent to me and our local politicians have embraced left wing causes and using taxpayer money to fund them and at the same time ignoring our concerns.

You are absolutely correct.. It is absurd that the politicians in this county chose to spend money on ILLEGAL while at the same time there are so many under funded needs for legal citizen residents. For example: Education, health care, homelessness, public safety to mention only a few.
