Carjacking suspect arrested in Redwood City

A Redwood City man is in custody after allegedly carjacking another man early Thursday morning on the 1000 block of Beech Street in Redwood City, according to police.

At approximately 2:49 a.m., a 29-year-old man was sitting in his vehicle in the parking garage of his apartment complex when confronted by a man with a knife who demanded his vehicle. The victim gave him the keys and the man, identified by police as Bryan Rios Serrato, 19, asked for his wallet. The victim pushed Serrato and ran while the man got into the car and fled, according to police.
