The San Mateo man arrested Friday on suspicion of sex crimes and child pornography molested two Northern California teenagers at least three times over a nine-month period, Arcata police said.

Arcata police Detective Gary Bates said Nicholas Vallerga, 22, traveled to Arcata, about 280 miles north of San Francisco, on numerous occasions, meeting with two teenage girls, both 15, after first contacting them over the Internet. The two girls are friends, Bates said, and the crimes occurred at the residence of one of the girls.
